General Manager – Americas

Solaris Global Energy LLC, “The Future Energy Solution Company”, (SGEL) is a subsidiary of Mora Ven Holdings Limited, a publicly listed oil and gas company headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago. We are renewable energy pioneers with more than thirty years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing solar and wind energy systems;

We specialize in high quality yet affordable renewable energy installations for residential, commercial, and governmental clients, and provide comprehensive services ranging from evaluation and assessment to ongoing system maintenance;

We have offices in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica and Florida, USA. Our factory operations are based in Barbados, where we manufacture our Solar Water Heaters;


Solaris Global Energy LLC seeks to recruit the services of a General Manager with the right technical and leadership abilities to provide tactical oversight and support for its Americas operations to advance the company along its growth objective.



  • Assist with oversight for day-to-day activities of the operations inclusive of development and implementation of strategies for the realisation of corporate and regional objectives that will drive profitability
  • Provide planning support to the CEO in execution of new initiatives and business ventures for the Americas and management of existing projects in accordance with the Business Plan
  • Provide support to the CEO for establishing and managing an EPC for the Americas that will aptly respond to the levels of complexity of the market
  • Responsibility for sales agenda of the territory to ensure that established targets are achieved or surpassed in consultation with Director of Sales and that all third party contracts are regularly assessed for service delivery and cost benefits to the company
  • Generation of new business and management of existing relationships through promotion of the company’s suite of products and services in coordination with Director of Sales
  • Assist in the financial management, budget preparation, planning, systems and controls consistent with the company’s agenda
  • Preparation of timely and accurate reports as stipulated to provide update on the locations’ operations and make proactive recommendations; conduct presentations to all levels in the internal organization and external parties
  • Contribute significantly to the long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
  • Perform daily planning and follow-up activities and identify and evaluate potential threats to the Company and make recommendations for containment


The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Management, Business Studies or related field
  • Previous experience as Area, General or Sales Manager, and/or Manager in a company of similar size for a minimum of seven (7) years or within similar industries, and demonstrates operational rigour and astuteness at the highest level, particularly regarding customer service standards delivery and performance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the renewable energy industry and strong network of relationships within the field
  • Working knowledge of alternative energy regulations;
  • Working knowledge of Solar renewable energy certificate (SREC) or tax incentive structures for applicable states;
  • Working knowledge of financial issues, and can rigorously apply financial policy and procedure
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain differentiated products within the industry
  • Programme Management qualification or demonstrable experience in delivering complex, multi-discipline assignment is desirable
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation)
  • Strong contract negotiation skills;
  • Working knowledge of Office Suite
  • Significant networking experience
