Solaris Energy, “The Future Energy Solution Company”, is seeking the services of a highly competent, dynamic and driven individual to serve as an Electrical Engineer.

We are industry pioneers with more than thirty years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing solar and wind energy systems;

We specialize in high quality yet affordable renewable energy installations for residential, commercial, and governmental clients, and provide comprehensive services ranging from evaluation and assessment to ongoing system maintenance;

We have offices in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica and Florida, USA. Our factory operations are based in Barbados, where we manufacture our Solar Water Heaters;

Responsibilities include:
  • Designing, planning and executing installation of renewable energy systems for a wide variety of properties from residential to large-scale commercial and governmental projects
  • Researching and sourcing of equipment for the installation of renewable energy systems
  • Preparing quotations for PV and other renewable energy installations
  • Conducting site surveys, reading electrical plans and producing electrical drawings and schematics
  • Collaborating with site managers, project engineers, and technicians to coordinate timely installation activities
  • Providing support to facilitate solving installation issues as it relates to renewable energy systems
  • Proactively identifying issues/problems and implementing process improvement
  • Monitoring developments in the industry and introducing new developments as required
  • Attending seminars and representing the company when necessary to promote the technical competency of the company and its product suite
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • First degree in Renewable Energy would be an asset
  • Experience in renewable energy systems design and planning. Field work in the power generation and working with standby generation systems would be an asset
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and draw electrical circuits and building drawings
  • Ability to use various electrical testing instruments
  • Ability to collaborate with all team members, project engineers and construction site managers
  • Possess good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and organize effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Attention to safety, detail and a high level of accuracy
